Amanda Bence, Hospital Manager
I started in the Veterinary field when I was quite young, 15. My mom was a veterinary technician and so I would go to work with her and help out a lot during my teenage years. When I was 21 I got my first job working in an Animal Hospital as a kennel attendant. I stayed at that job for 7 years and gained a lot of knowledge and experience working in the veterinary field. I then took 2 years off to be a mom but was really longing for that special feeling I get from working animals. After taking the 2 years off I decided I wanted to try Emergency and Specialty veterinary medicine. I worked as an ER tech for 3 years bouncing between ER and critical care. After 3 years I was offered a position as an oncology assistant. I stayed in this position for 4 years and loved it. Now I am here at Seacliff animal hospital as the manager. I enjoy this new role very much and look forward to meeting all of you.
Holly Woodbury, Lead Veterinary Nurse
I have always dreamed of working in the Veterinary industry. I volunteered at animal shelters from an incredibly young age and was hired as a kennel attendant in 1993 working with Dr Garza in Sunset Beach. In 2011 I followed her to Seacliff Animal Hospital and have been the lead technician since. Although I no longer work with Dr. Garza, I am very happy she was able to find such great new owners who love animals as much as she did. I can honestly say I love what I do today as much as I did over 25 years ago.
Jackie Proano, Veterinary Assistant
Hi! My name is Jacklyn . I grew up in Southern California knowing I wanted to work with animals from a very young age. I began my working journey at an animal shelter and worked there for 4 years, where I helped animals find forever homes, though it was bittersweet when you had to say goodbye. It’s hard not to form bonds. Working there motivated me more to pursue my career to become an RVT. In the fall of 2017, I joined Seacliff Animal Hospital after graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Animal Science. I love that I can help animals in their time of need and watch them leave feeling healthy again. I have increased my knowledge throughout these years and look forward to learning more with Dr. Dietz. On my free time you’ll find me outside exploring nature, hanging out with my 3 pups and kitty, as well as making handcrafts.
